Listen Carefully...

I prayed every night for a Christian friend. It doesn’t mean that I only want to be friends with Christians but there’s something about being friends with another Christian. It’s great just knowing that someone else has the same feelings like you do about God. You can truly relate with each other and grow in spirit & learn about him with one another. My prayers were answered. My Co-worker, Lorena, is a Christian, too. Even if our schedules clash a.k.a. not able to hang out together, we managed to share our Christian experiences.
She gave me a book called “A Gentle Thunder” by Max Lucado. I am just on page 10 but his words definitely speak to me.

Max Lucado: “Once there was a man who dared God to speak. Burn the brush like you did for Moses, God. And I will follow. Collapse the walls like you did for Joshua, God. And I will fight. Still the waves like you did on Galilee, God. And I will listen.
And so the man sat by a bush, near a wall, close to the sea, and waited for God to speak. And god heard the man, so God answered. He sent fire, not for a bush, but for a church. He brought down a walk, not of a brick, but of sin. He stilled a storm, not of the sea, but of a soul. And God waited for a man to respond.
And he waited…
And he waited…
And waited.
But because the man was looking at bushes, not hearts;
Bricks and not lives, seas and not souls,
He decided that God had done nothing
Finally, he looked to God and asked, Have you lost your power?
And God looked at him and said, Have you lost your hearing?”

Sometimes, we have to really hear what God is telling us. It’s tough for me at times. Maybe because I am not listening to him the right way. I think my sister had experienced hearing God & it's awesome to know she has been touched by him. I gotta say, I want to experience that, too.

“In the beginning was the Word…The word became a human & lived among us.” (John 1:1,14)
