BE IN YOUR own RACE

God made us to be different on purpose. Yes, people will inspire or challenge you yet you shouldn't be condemn of "I got to do what he is doing". By condemning myself of "I got to do what he is doing" will result into the stage of jealousy and anger. Look what happened to King Saul. He was so focused of being David or being better than David that he didn't know what his true gift from our Father God. The book of 1 Samuel in Ch. 18, it shows King Saul wasn't comfortable with himself and therefore, he needed to prove to the society. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. The person you compare or compete with might have the strengths/abilities that you can't do but you also have other strengths/abilities that he probably can't do at all. God didn't create us to be comparing or competing with each other. Just be the best you can be.

You are your own person and so, be comfortable in your own skin. What you have inside will appear from the outside of you. It doesn't mean to be sloppy at it, though. if you want to improve yourself, go for it. However remember, the outside should apply what the gifting, the calling God anointed you to do. The real test is not to be jealous and to be in your own race. Some people are in a race to catch up on their neighbors or friends to out-do them, out-dress them, or try to prove you are as important as them.

Here's an example of being in that particular race: Joel Osteen knew a 7 years old boy named Joey. Joey doesn't like himself. He likes Billy and copied Billy. He began to walk and talk like Billy. However, Billy doesn't like himself at all. He liked Cory. Billy copied Cory. Billy walks and talks just like Cory. Come to find out Cory doesn't like what he was. Cory is much more impress with Frankie. It seems that Frankie doesn't like who he was. He liked Joey. He started to walk and talk like Joey. So, what do we have here? Joey is copying Billy, who's copying Cory, who's copying Frankie, who's copying himself."

Maybe you see something special in that person and it's why you want to be like him. It's good to respect, admire or be impress of someone but run your own race. You do have something great to offer. Keep in mind, it is important to know what you are good at but it is also more important to know what you are not good at. For me, I know my limitations and I don't spend all my time and energy on the path of out-do, out-dress, or to prove others who I am or what I can be. I will focus all my time and energy towards Father God's given destiny. In John 3:27 (KJV) "John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven." It speaks that God naturally created and anointed you in a unique way.
