"The difference between winning and losing is how we choose to react to disappointment."- Barbara Johnson
I requested at work this coming weekend off in order to go to my friend's b-day Las Vegas Trip. I am not a big fan of gambling but I am a big fan of hanging or socializing with my friends. When I had my work schedule, I didn't get the weekend off. Usually, the manager would let me know if she tried her best or apologized she couldn't do it but she didn't say nothing & walked away. I thought that was pretty rude. I was a little upset and said some stuff that I don't mean about her.
I immediately talked to God about it and how it's so unfair. I believe it's possible to work something out because we have enough co-workers now. I just don't understand. Of course in time, I just accept it and it's just not meant to be. Maybe this is God's doing I said to myself. Just in case, I called my manager's office and left a voice mail. I asked her if she did look at the request day off black book and I would call you about it later.
I was going to call the next day and follow it up but I figured to forget about it. Las Vegas isn't peaches and cream. I had a e-mail from my co-worker and told me, the manager did change the schedule and I am able to go. Okay, I still think this God's doing but now, a lesson to learn kind of deal. We will see because the question now is: Am I pleasing myself that I call 'fun' or Am I pleasing God? This must be a test.
