"The Trouble With Love Is" by Kelly Clarkson
Oooh oooh, ooooh yeah, mmmm...
Love can be a many splendored thing
Can't deny the joy it brings
A dozen roses, diamond rings
Dreams for sale and fairy tales
It'll make you hear a symphony
And you just want the world to see
But like a drug that makes you blind,
It'll fool ya every time
The trouble with love is
It can tear you up inside
Make your heart believe a lie
It's stronger than your pride
The trouble with love is
It doesn't care how fast you fall
And you can't refuse the call
See, you got no say at all
Now I was once a fool, it's true
I played the game by all the rules
But now my world's a deeper blue
I'm sadder, but I'm wiser too
I swore I'd never love again
I swore my heart would never mend
Said love wasn't worth the pain
But then I hear it call my name
(The trouble with) The trouble with love is
It can tear you up inside
Make your heart believe a lie
It's stronger than your pride
The trouble with love is
It doesn't care how fast you fall
And you can't refuse the call
See, you got no say at all
Every time I turn around
I think I've got it all figured out
My heart keeps callin' and I keep on fallin'
Over and over again
This sad story always ends the same
Me standin' in the pourin' rain
It seems no matter what I do
It tears my heart in two
(The trouble with love is) The trouble with love, yeah
(It can tear you up inside) It can tear you up inside
(Make your heart believe a lie) Make your heart believe a lie
It's stronger than your pride
(The trouble with love is)
It's in your heart
It's in your soul (doesn't care how fast you fall)
You won't get no control
(and you can't refuse the call)
See, you got no say at all
(The trouble with love is) Oh, yeah
(It can tear you up inside)
(Make your heart believe a lie)
Before I would always sing this song as I drive to places but now, I don't think it's a good song to sing about. I just don't relate with it and I don't view love like that anymore. The song seems to be the world's view of "love". Seriously, how is love tearing you up inside? How does it make your heart believe a lie? Is it horrible for love to be stronger than pride? How does it not care how fast you fall? Why would you analyze and doubt his love? What kind of relationship do you have...I mean, with Jesus Christ or in any matter, with people?
With that said, John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." It seems Grace and the Truth are not 2 different meanings. Joseph Prince stated "You cannot separate truth from grace and grace from truth as they are both embodied in the person of Jesus Christ....Grace and truth came together through the person and ministry of Jesus. Grace isn't a doctrine or teaching. Grace is a person." Yet, before Jesus Christ and the law, God still present his grace to us. Did you know in the old covenant of the Bible "before the law was given, none of the children of Israel died even though they murmured and complained against God's appointed leadership?" "This is a picture of pure grace". Heck, that's pure love!
So if I could change the lyrics I would say, love doesn't tear up inside, it makes your heart believe the truth, it is stronger than pride, and love does care how fast you fall. That's the kind of relationship I have with my fiancee, my friends, my family, and Jesus Christ. If you are in so-called "love" that it's a lie with Jesus Christ, you need to know it's not. He is always there for you & let his grace overflow, let his love overflow you. After you receive his love, though the question is, do you trust him?
